The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed that all its missionaries located in central Italy are fine and accounted for after a deadly earthquake ripped through the region Monday.

The original quake in L'Aquila has been estimated between 5.8 and 6.3 on the Richter scale and was followed by several aftershocks. The quake killed at least 90 and injured thousands of others.

Church spokesman Scott Trotter said there are four missionaries from the Rome Italy Mission in that area, but they are doing fine.

"They are safe and are communicating with the mission president via cell phones," Trotter said. "They have plenty of food and water and are staying in their apartments until local authorities say it is safe to go out."

The Rome Italy Mission is one of the three missions in Italy.

We thank Thee, Lord.
