Self respect as Frederick Douglass quotes:"I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence."
How many of you would actually tell a guy off and mean it when he snaps open your bra? Or do something you know which is wrong just so that you will be accepted by your friends? Do you think they truly respect you?
The truth is NO.
My challenge today is, respect yourself by doing what you know is truly right, by not compromising your moral values, standing up and speaking for yourself, you will hold your head high with your self esteem and diginity intact. Having self respect builds good self esteem and dignity, you will one day become a woman of charactor rather than just the person who follows the crowd. "Self-respect is a question of recognizing that anything worth having has a price", quotes Joan Didion.
In closing, please remember this. Whatever games are played with us, we must play no games with ourselves.
Join if you support my vision above.
